How long would it take for someone to teach me how to shift gears on a motorcycle if I already drive a scooter?How long would it take for someone to teach me how to shift gears on a motorcycle if I already drive a scooter? My 250cc scooter is obviously an automatic. I can ride it just fine, in the city or on the freeway. However, I've never ridden a motorcycle. (I have owned stick-shift cars though.) I want to buy a motorcycle, but it's gonna be hard to test drive it (and ride it home) if I can't shift it! So, if I post an ad (on craigslist, for example) to hire someone to give me a lesson on how to shift a motorcycle (using their motorcycle), how long of a lesson would it need to be, and what would a fair price be? Thanks! An experienced motorcycle teacher can teach you about the gears (it's mostly a matter of trial and error/experience) in an hour's worth of practice in a parking lot. I taught my wife how to ride and shift her motorcycle in about half an hour in a large parking lot. She too has driven manual transmission cars. A couple of weeks later she took a MSF Basic Rider Course and got a much better lesson (those guys are pros at teaching that kinda stuff). The clutch of a motorcycle is much easier to work than the clutch of a car (assuming that you're not buying some crazy suicide-clutch set up). Your salesman can teach you before you leave the parking lot. Just plan a low-traffic route home when you make your purchase. Some good advice there, but I wouldn't recommend having the dealer "show you" and then you ride it home. If a person isn't to the point where shifting comes naturally, they shouldn't be on the road, and that ain't happening from one lesson. Dude its so easy , just practice a little in a quiet street and you'll be pro! don worry bout courses. It will take about 20 minutes to get you to take off from a stop. another 20 to shift once you can move. Buy the bike, learn on an empty parking lot but, for heaven's sake, don't hit the roads before you take your MSF course! The pedal will go down to the floor and if I pump it many times in a row I can get a small amount of pressure on it and get the vehicle into gear without grinding. Ford Expedition Door Panel Removal InstructionsThe door panel on a Ford Expedition covers the interior door access holes, provides sound proofing for the passenger cabin and adds to the overall interior trim package aesthetics. If the panel incurs damage requiring replacement, or you have need to access the interior door components, such as the window motors, lock actuators or latches, you'll have to remove the door panel first. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Trim tool Socket set Step by Step : 1 Pry the window switch bezel/arm rest off the door panel with the trim tool. Unplug the window switch wiring harness by hand and set the bezel/arm rest off to the side. 2 Pry the A-pillar trim piece off the top-front of the door panel using the trim tool. Set the trim aside. 3 Pry the inner door handle bezel out with the trim tool. Set it aside. 4 Remove the hex head screws located behind the two bezels and A-pillar trim using the socket set. Set the screws in one place for easy retrieval when reinstalling the door panel. 5 Grab the leading and trailing edge of the door panel by hand and lift the panel up and off the door. Disconnect the courtesy light wiring harness from the courtesy light, if so equipped, before moving the panel away from the door.

Remove the wiring connectors from the back of the window and lock switches by hand. Set the bezel and switches aside. 2 Remove the A pillar trim with the trim tool. Set it aside. 3 Pry the speaker cover trim out of the door panel with the trim tool and set it aside. 4 Remove all the hex-head screws exposed under the window bezel, A pillar trim and speaker cover with the socket set. Place all the screws together so they're easy to find when reinstalling the door panel. 5 Lift the door panel up and off the door by hand.
